Thai food is one of the biggest reasons people keep coming back to Thailand, and honestly, the best meals rarely happen in fancy restaurants. The real magic is on the streets, where vendors fire up woks and charcoal grills from early morning until late at night, filling the air with the kind of aromas that stop you in your tracks.

Street food in Thailand is incredibly affordable, with most snacks and dishes costing between $1 and $3 per person. Som tam, the famous green papaya salad, is a must-try, it’s fresh, spicy, and punchy all at once, and you’ll find vendors making it to order on almost every busy street corner. Mango sticky rice is the dessert you didn’t know you needed, with perfectly ripe mango sitting alongside sweet glutinous rice drizzled in coconut cream. Grilled meat skewers, known as moo ping, are the perfect grab-and-go snack, juicy, smoky, and dangerously addictive at around 20 baht a stick.

When you’re ready to sit down for a proper meal, local Thai restaurants offer exceptional value at roughly $3 to $7 per person. Pad kra pao, stir-fried minced meat with holy basil served over rice with a fried egg on top, is the dish that Thais themselves eat most frequently, it’s simple, bold, and deeply satisfying.

Massaman curry is the one to order when you want something rich and slow-cooked, with tender meat, potatoes, and roasted peanuts swimming in a mildly spiced coconut broth that has clear influences from Persian and Indian cuisine. Tom yum soup brings the heat in a completely different way, a clear, intensely aromatic broth loaded with lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, galangal, and fresh chilies that wakes up every taste bud at once.

One thing worth knowing is that Thai food varies significantly by region. The north leans toward milder, herb-heavy dishes, while the south is where the food gets seriously spicy and coconut milk appears in almost everything. If you’re eating your way through multiple cities, pay attention to these regional differences, they tell you a lot about the local culture and history.

Whether you’re grabbing a quick snack from a street cart or settling into a plastic chair at a family-run restaurant, eating in Thailand is always an experience worth slowing down for.

One more thing that is purely from my personal experience the most hard thing in Thailand is to find the halal food from many city. But the good thing is the Thai fruits are amazing and delicious. During my stay I eaten Pineapple and Rambutan fruit everyday. These fruits are so juicy, yummy, fresh and amazing in the taste. In Phuket one more interesting thing, I forget the name of the hotel but that was operated by a Punjabi sardar he served us a good Punjabi food.
